McCall's 8338

I do like this pattern and I will probably make it again, but use the Peter Pan collar version next time.
I don't like skimpy little ties.

Love the fabric as well, an embroidered denim. A little fancy and down to earth also.

Another summer dress, that is, alas, packed away. For this I had to use this lace doily. I did make a mess of it, I should have just sewed it on top of the fabric, but in the long run, it did turn out.

Good dress for hot weather!

Burda 6473

Just a few pics from the summer. This is Burda 6473, I used an old skirt for the top and fabric from the stash for the skirt. I made the sleeve ruffle larger and added a bottom ruffle.
I'm in my brother's garden, he defiantly has the green thumb.

McCall's 8035

I choose this dress to sew because it looked so easy and it was, but the fabric was so terribly stretchy that it made sewing difficult, had to cut the fabric after the fact.

But other than that it came together easily. It is kind of an odd looking dress, but I like it and will sew the pattern again, but probably without the peplum.

Ta-da!

Butterick 6889

I have been sewing because it has been such a long, long, everlasting winter. But I haven't been blogging because my camera broke, my computer broke and my editing program is no longer available. We did go to Mexico for a week, but when I got back, did my mammogram and now I need surgery. Yikes! In the end all will be fine! Do you ever wonder about people you follow and all the sudden they are gone? I do, but hopefully they are just busy with life.

I did have this original pattern in my stash from my from my friends grandma who got us interested in sewing when we were eleven years old. I got the new pattern because I needed a bigger size.

It took awhile to sew for some reason. I added elastic at the waist just because I knew that would be needed to look need. Like the dress and like the pattern.

Butterick 5546

This is some of my favorite corduroy that I purchased at the old Hancock Fabrics. I was nervous to use it on a new pattern, but it worked out good.

I just added to the under bust area and I made the skirt wider so it has gathers instead of a smooth finish. I can't handle clothing that is too tight.

I've been sewing a lot, because it's so horrible outside. In Minnesota we have much more snow than normal and now we have ice too (but not on the roads, we do street snow removal well).
Can't complain too much, it's bad almost everywhere.
